vacation in örebro pt I

I'm back from three lovely days in Örebro. I went there to see Linda, and I knew it was going to be great, but I didn't expect to get such a magnificent vacation! Time to talk, time to read, time to think. Time to play outside in the snow!

I've taken tons of photos. I seem to be doing that as of late. One of my favorite quotes is "The best way to have a good ideas is to have many ideas" (Linus Pauling), and I think the same goes for photos, too. I've been photographing like mad this past month (as you may have noticed here in the blog) and I keep liking my photos more and more, which inspires me to take more photos, and so it continues. It's kind of fabulous actually. Recommended!

There'll be more photos from Örebro for sure, later or tomorrow. I'm turning this computer thing off now to do some letter writing and scrapbooking. Perfect for a Sunday like this.

new york pt IV

More New York, such as the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art (yes, we went back for another day there, it was just too good and New York Public Library).

new york pt III

More New York, such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Statue of Liberty and more Central Park (that sign made me laugh, talk about rigid rules!).

new york pt II

More New York, such as Central Park, one of the three oldest playable pianos in the world & Jackson Pollock.

new york pt I

I think that New York and my disappointment with it have finally sunk in enough for me to be able to see we did some fun things there, too, and that there were actually some photos that I like. So I figured I might as well show them.

I'm off to Örebro today to visit friends, but I'll post some more New York photos over the weekend. See you soon!

a day trip

"Utflykt" is one of my favorite words in Swedish. Ut + flykt. Out + flight. Flying out. Also, going for a utflykt (my dictionary translates it to "outing" or "day trip") is something everyone did when we were smaller (to Slottsskogen, or to Ruddalen to go ice skating, or out in the woods for a walk with picknick), but people don't seem to do enough of it nowadays. I believe a utflykt is good for everyone!

We went to Nordiska Akvarellmuseet in Skärhamn to look at interesting and/ or beautiful watercolors, sit outside in the sun for a long while and admire the lovely landscape from the car (and two times I had to say "stop! We have to turn around, I have to take a picture!"). It's been a good day, good to the point of magical. I wish you a pleasant day trip too.
